Disney, Dedication, and more pictures

We're had a wonderful time celebrating the
dedication of our lil' niece in Orlando.

All the grand-kids

While we were up there, we spent a day at Magic Kingdom.

The day we were supposed to leave, we spent at the Pediatric Orthopedic where Sarah recieved this cute lil' pink cast. She stepped on a sit and spin toy while walking on our back patio. It threw her back onto the floor.
Not a good way to start the trip.

The kids loved the bunk beds that were in our hotel. The boys slept on the top, the girls on the bottom. Not sure if we will do that again. The girls did well, but the boys were a little too active when it was time to sleep.

Legos, and more legos!

I've been loving taking pictures with my camera.
Most of the kids are enjoying being models for me.

Books and Boys

A few good books that I have been using with my kids

Who Is God?
Who is God? A seriously great study on God for kids.
We've done many study/devotional books in the past. This one is one of my favorites. It is book 1 in a series created by Apologia educational Ministires. We are reading it with our older 2, and have gotten some nice deep talks about many subjects pertaining to God and the Christian worldview.

The Boy Who Changed the World
"This engaging story reveals the incredible truth that everything we do matters! Based on The Butterfly Effect, Andy's timeless tale shows children that even the smallest of our actions can affect all of humanity. The book is beautifully illustrated and shares the stories of Nobel Laureate Norman Borlaug, Vice President Henry Wallace, Inventor George Washington Carver, and Farmer Moses Carver. Through the stories of each, a different butterfly will appear. The book will end with a flourish of butterflies and a charge to the child that they, too, can be the boy or girl who changes the world."

Love this book!!!!

The Complete Zoo Adventure
Zoo Adventures for Kids
I've been reading this with the kids the last few months, and we have all learned an amazing amount of info. about God's creation. The book is heavy on very interesting facts about animals that point toward the Creator. Very interesting and educational.

"An indepth study of famous American men and women who exhibited tremendous character in their respective eras.... Character for Life, An American Heritage is the stories of people who were abandoned to the mission of Jesus Christ. Their love for God and their country should motivate us to not only treasure our “godly heritage” but inspire us to discover our role in the “Great Commission.”"
My love for biographies drew me to this book. I love that it is a challenging read for my older kids, and gives us deep questions to ponder.

ATC's, Mud, and More

It's been a few weeks since my last post. During that time I had 3 kids get sick, one after the other. We did have a few days in-between kids being sick where we were able to enjoy a Mud Run(very messy race), enjoy the great weather outside, and have another delightful time celebrating Mothers Day at my Nanna's church.
To all my mommy friends and family......have a great Mothers Day!!!! Enjoy your precious kids, for the time is short. Be blessed with what God has given you this day. :o)

Please excuse the large amount of pictures. I truly cannot help it!!!!
Between the exciting events I went to and getting a new camera....
I'm just overflowing with pictures to share.
I love pictures(as those close to me already know)! I've been wanting a DSLR camera for a long time. But my history with cameras is not too good lol. I am in constant juggle mode, and the camera seems to be one of the "balls" that gets dropped(sometimes literally).
Mark and I found a good deal on a DSLR on Craigslist, which gave me the courage to brave a more expensive camera. So, the past few days I have been driving some of my kids nuts following them around, snapping like the paparazzi.

My older 2 children and I joined my sister-n-law and my 2 nieces for a Mud Run. I had a great time bonding with my sister-n-law while we climbed walls and crawled in mud.
The kids had a blast too.
We can't wait to do it again next year.

He was the only one of us to run non-stop

The girls....almost there.

Fun riding on their ATC

Every year my Nanna's church has a Mothers Day Dinner. We've been going for years now, and I hope to continue for many more years.
It is something we look forward to as each May comes around.
